Testing Assistant

Assist in testing the Discovery Robotics’ FX250 floor care system. The testing assistant will transport the FX250 unit to various operating locations, plan the testing profile, operate the robotic unit, observe system operation, record test observations and document results.  In the event of any anomalous conditions, the assistant will do limited faulted diagnosis and troubleshooting. Testing may occur during the day or evening, depending on the test location. Attention to detail is essential, familiarity with any type of mechanical, cleaning or robotic system would be helpful but not required. Driver’s license is required. 

Software Development Engineer- Path Planning/Navigation

Discovery Robotics is seeking a seasoned software engineer with expertise in path planning and navigation.  The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of modern navigation and path planning techniques and algorithms with particular experience in graph traversal algorithms.  At least two years of practical software engineering experience with C++ in a Linux environment including experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS) and its navigation stack is required.  A BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics or related field as well as practical experience with robotic or automation platforms is expected.

Software Development Engineer- Localization

Discovery Robotics is seeking a seasoned software engineer with expertise in robot localization processes.  The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of modern navigation and localization techniques and algorithms with particular experience filtering (Kalman/Particle) and sensor fusion of Lidars, IMU’s, encoders, and 2D/3D cameras.  At least two years of practical software engineering experience with C++ in a Linux environment including experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS) and its navigation stack is required. A BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics or related field as well as practical experience with robotic or automation platforms is expected.  Experience with computer vision/Open CV would be a plus.
